That's the day of a big Country and Bluegrass Music Festival that will be held to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Crescent Shriners' Center at 700 Highland Drive in Weshampton, N.J. That's near Mount Holly. The shindig gets underway at 11 a.m. and will go on until 10 p.m. An all star lineup of country music talent featuring old friend Jim Murphy and his Pine Barons, along with Dave Bond and real Country, Borderline, Riverside and others will be featured continuously throughout the day. For tickets or directions, call the Shrine Center at 609-702-9440 or log on to www.crescentshrine.org ..... I plan on being there with copies of my new book. I hope to see you there. That's Saturday, July 12 in Weshampton, N.J.......Jim McCoy, owner of the famed Troubadour Park and Lounge in Berkley Springs, West Virginia, and who is actually credited with giving Patsy Cline her first opportunity to sing on his radio show on station WINC back around 1948, will be a guest on my Country Music Hall show on WBCB-AM 1490 on Sunday, July 6. Tune in to this country music legend. McCoy named his lounge in honor of his friend Ernest Tubb. And he will have a tribute to Patsy and Tubb at the Troubadour Lounge on Friday, August 29......The National Traditional Country Music Association in Anita, Iowa will hold the organization's annual fund-raising Country and Bluegrass Festival and Contest from Monday, August 25 through Sunday, August 31, according to NTCMA's president Bob Everhart. The week-long country music extravaganza is held each year to raise money to support NTCMA's Pioneer Music Museum, America's Old Time Fiddler's Hall of Fame, the Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame and the famed Oak Tree Opry. More than 600 performers are expected to take part, says Everhart with the event to be held at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds in LeMars, Iowa. Admission is $15 per day for adults and $10 per day for anyone under 18 years of age. You can gain additional details by logging on to www.oldtimemusic.tipzu.com or send an e-mail to bobeverhart@yahoo.com. Their phone number is 712-762-4363. Country musicans and performers are invited to take part in the Festival. We would like to wish Bob continued success with his all country music event....I'm sorry to report that my book is no longer available at An Angel's Touch Decor and the Bristol Borough store on Radcliffe Street has closed. The owners, two special people, Bob and Barbara Everette will continue in business however, in the mail order business. So, you can still purchase the marvelous and delightful gifts that Bob and Barbara specialize in by logging on to their web site which is listed above. The above link will take you directly to their business. They're truly great people and it was a pleasure doing business with them I wish them continued success with their gift business. Remember, just click the link above marked An Angel's Touch Decor and you'll find the Everette's..... .....I recently had the honor and I'm quite proud of becoming a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia, a great organization that recognizes television and radio personnel, both past and present throughout the City of Brotherly Love and its surrounding area. Most all of the people who became my radio heroes when I was growing up in North Philly, are members of this superb organization...... My book "When Country Was Gold in the Delaware Valley(c)" is now available at Pat's Music at 2072 Street Road, Bensalem, 19020, 215-638-9750 and at his second location, Pat's Music, 7302 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 19136, 215-708-0444. My dear friend Annie Lynn's music is finally starting to catch on with area listeners as her recording of "My Blueridge Mountain Home," wriiten by Jim Burns and featuring Lance Miller and Annie is rapidly making inroads on radio stations throughout Virgina and other states. Also, Annie's signature song "See You Soon" is a pretty catchy tune that the listeners on my "Country Music Hall" shows continue to request. Keep up the great music, Annie. Tune in to my Sunday show to hear more about this energetic young lady, a super performer and a darn good songwriter. You can write to Annie at Anniebirdd@aol.com. She'd love to hear from you.....If you are a guitar player, or play any other instrument and you need repairs or guitar supplies, stop by and say hello to my friend Joe Z at Joe Z's Guitar Repair at A-Z Music on Bridge Street in Morrisville. One thing for sure, Joe Z knows the guitar, he can repair them with considerable ease, play them like it's nobody's business, and even custom build you one, if you so desire. By all means, stop in. And while you're there, pick up a copy of my book "When Country Was Gold in the Delaware Valley(c).".......Hey

Green Gables in Lewistown. For directions or more
information, or even to book my old friend for a

Thanks to the many people who have purchased a copy
of my new book "When Country Was Gold in the
Delaware Valley©." I have heard quite a few positive
comments about the book and the many area performers
whose names we talk about. And, of course, the
number of clubs, night spots and places where
country music reigned supreme. We're hoping to add a
few new retail outlets in the near future where the
book can be purchased.
